Individualized Skill Development

The Moniteau County SB40 Board provides Individualized Skill Development (Individual and/or Group) support to individuals needing specialized skill training in any area that fosters independence. Individualized Skill Development (ISD) training focuses on specific goals identified by the individual and their team. Service can be provided in the home or community allowing the goal to determine the appropriate environment.

ISD services are individualized supports, delivered in a personalized manner, to support individuals who live in their own or family homes with acquiring, building or maintaining complex skills necessary to maximize their personal independence. Teaching methods are individualized to what the participant wants to accomplish, learn and/or change based on the identified skill as developed in the person-centered planning process and provided in accordance with the Individual’s Support Plan (ISP) to achieve identified outcomes. Complex skills development include but are not limited to personal life skills, emergency and safety skills, interpersonal, and household skills.
